Sitefinity Release Notes: August 13, 2025
Jozianne Mestas | Office of Information Technology Aug 13, 2025Dear university web community members,
We’re pleased to share the latest updates and improvements to our shared content management system, Sitefinity. These changes support our ongoing efforts to enhance site functionality, accessibility, and user experience.
Strategic Project Updates
- Transition to Sitefinity Cloud
- Our initial testing activities to prepare for the transition to Sitefinity Cloud continue. We have enlisted a few web community members to test items as well.
- We continue to perform system clean up tasks in preparation for this migration.
- Migration Timeline
- Exact migration dates have not been finalized.
- The transition is expected to occur sometime this Fall, after the start of the new semester.
- The timing will be carefully selected to ensure little to no disruption for end users and communicated in advance.
- Temporary Editing Freeze
- During part of the migration, a temporary freeze on website content editing will be implemented.
- Editors will be asked to pause all updates during this time.
- This freeze will likely take place over a weekend to reduce the impact on users.
Web Accessibility
- Web Bio widget
- Views which use “View CU Medicine Profile” or “View Research Profile” links have had an aria-label added to them which references the name of the individual profile. This makes it clear which link corresponds to which profile for users of assistive technology.
- Policies widget
- An issue with an empty <ul> element appearing in Related Documents section has been resolved. Additionally, if Related Documents are added, a new section header has been created to help users identify these documents.
- Numerous web site accessibility reviews for various departments are underway and scheduled.
Other items to note
- Web Bio import
- The 'Import from IDM' feature functionality was restored since our last release notes update.
- Hubspot (for CU Anschutz)--> Sitefinity Newsroom
- Discovery pertaining to this potential transition continues.
