Be ready to tell your colleagues a few of the highlights about what you read. A few places you might find these resources are:

  • The (NCFDD). (Create your free account via the CFDA if you haven't done so already.)
  • The (You'll sign in with your University credentials.)
  • Searching the "Start my Research" box for ebooks on teaching in higher education
  • Search online -- plenty of faculty maintain websites and/or blogs on creative teaching they do in higher education (1 hour)

You may also want to explore the Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning's offerings. You're welcome to participate in their workshops.

Write your Teaching Philosophy Statement. Check out this from the University of Western Ontario. If you haven't taught a course yet, that's okay! Focus on learning what goes into a teaching philosophy statement and think about what your want to be as a teacher (1 hour).

We'll gather together at the CFDA for coffee (1 hour) after you complete this module. Some things we'll discuss:

  • Interesting ideas & trends you read about
  • Your teaching philosophy
  • How you can continue to develop in your teaching
  • Ways to ask colleagues for feedback on your teaching & use that feedback for additional growth

See you there!
