The Great Outdoors & Indoors: Mountain Skiing & Denver NBA Games

When it’s time to take a break from studies, ICB students enjoy exciting indoor and outdoor events that are organized by the friendly staff in the Office of International Affairs (OIA). Students embarked on a winter adventure to a nearby mountain town, Frisco, Colorado, where they spent a fun-filled day skiing, snow tubing, and taking in the stunningly beautiful views. After an invigorating afternoon, they relaxed by browsing in unique, local shops and sipping tea and coffee in cozy cafes. Thrilling indoor events are just a few blocks away from campus in Ball Arena, where students had a front row view during warm-ups as the NBA’s Denver Nuggets prepared to play the Portland Trail Blazers. At game time, the ICB students joined local fans in cheering loudly for… guess which basketball team?

“It’s great to welcome international students to the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus each year; we’re really glad to have them here. The OIA team meets individually with each student to help them with immigration questions, academic advice, and ways to have positive cultural and educational experiences; we support them as they navigate through their first year, as well as throughout all of their semesters at Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó | CU Anschutz—and beyond.”
