Zina Evans
Vice Chancellor for Strategic Enrollment and Student Success
Zina L. Evans serves as the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Enrollment and Student Success. In this capacity, she oversees a team of professionals who work in collaboration with departments from across campus, including our schools and colleges, to provide student services and support along the student journey. The division provides a wide range of services including admissions, advising and mentoring, tutoring, health and wellbeing, career and experiential learning opportunities, housing and dining, recreation and club sports, student leadership development, and other offerings that are essential to a successful student experience. Our approach is grounded in meeting students where they are and assisting them in reaching their goals.
Before joining Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó, she served as senior vice president for high education strategy, enrollment and student success at Ed Advancement with a mission to support social mobility by strengthening mission focused institution that primarily service low-income, first generation, and under resourced students and families. Additionally, she served 15-years as vice president for enrollment management and associate provost at the University of Florida. Zina also held leadership positions at such institutions as the University of California Berkeley and the University of Maryland.
With over 35 years of experience in higher education, she is a frequent presenter on issues of access, enrollment, retention, and student success. She has served on numerous boards and committees including the SAT Advisory Committee; AP Higher Education Advisory Committee; the Cambridge International Strategic Higher Education Advisory Board, the Mastery Transcript Consortium Board, The Girls Place Inc. Board, a trustee for the College Board; and a founding member and executive board member of the Coalition for College. Zina received her PhD from the University of Maryland, MS from the University of Rhode Island and BA from the University of California, Irvine.
