Antonio Farias

Antonio Farias, MFA

Vice Chancellor for Access and Campus Engagement

Antonio Farias serves as the Vice Chancellor for Access and Campus Engagement responsible for driving and developing initiatives that build and advance Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó’s commitment to servingness and making education work for all. Antonio has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Riverside. He worships his daughter, re-energizes through a plant-based diet, and believes failure is the greatest teacher. When not at work you can find him running mountain trails, fly fishing, writing YA novels, and carving through canyon roads on his motorcycle.

Samuel Kim, EdD

Associate Vice Chancellor for Access and Campus Engagement

Dr. Samuel Kim is a proud first-generation college student and immigrant who was raised in Garden Grove, California. Dr. Kim brings over 20 years of experience in higher education, focusing on retention and engagement initiatives, new student experiences, student support services, and program design and evaluation. More recently, he led the Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó operational team that was instrumental in obtaining the Asian American Native American Pacific Islander - Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) designation, propelling Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó to become the first university in the Rocky Mountain region to earn the designation and to receive a $1.8 million grant. Dr. Kim received his Ed.D. in Leadership for Educational Equity from Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó and earned both his B.S. and MPH degrees from the University of Northern Colorado. To balance the demands of work and life, Dr. Kim spends time with his family, enjoys watching movies, volunteers in his community, and is a BJJ hobbyist.

Terrry-Hughes

Terrance (Terry) Hughes, PhD

Principal Evaluator for Grants and Programs for Access and Campus Engagement

Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó is an ideal place to work for Terry because of the opportunities it offers to pioneer new approaches to preparing students for a world that is changing at a breakneck speed. Terry has 12 years experience with Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó, in addition to serving at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan, the University of Michigan, and Michigan State University. He earned a Ph.D. in Extension, Continuing and Adult Education at Cornell University, a Master’s in Adult and Continuing Education at Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor’s with a History Concentration though the New York State Regent’s Degree program.  Prior to his career in higher education he served as a brakeman on two railroads, now he is eager to introduce his 18-month-old grandson to the joys of train watching.

Kerri Clarke, BA

Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Access and Campus Engagement

Kerri Clarke serves as the Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Access and Campus Engagement. Prior to her role in the Office for ACE, she was the Operations Coordinator for the College of Architecture and Planning at the University of Colorado Denver. She has over 15 years of experience in higher education, including Stevens Institute of Technology and Seton Hall University, specializing in student support services and event management. She grew up in Cleveland Ohio and attended Seton Hall University for her undergraduate degree. She loves to travel and is happiest at the ocean. She spends her free time doing house renovation projects with her husband Johan and dog Max.

Duy Tran, MA

Program Director

Duy Tran is a first-generation Vietnamese American whose own journey as an immigrant and caretaker fuels his dedication to student support in higher education. With experience spanning nonprofits, K-12, the private sector, and higher ed, Duy has served as a youth educator, project coordinator, and admissions counselor, all roles that deepen his passion for student advocacy. He holds a BA in Communication and an MA in Leadership for Educational Organizations from Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó, where he now works to build community and empower students, especially through the university’s AANAPISI designation. Fluent in English and Vietnamese, Duy credits his mentors and family for shaping his path and is committed to self-leadership and lifelong learning, drawing inspiration from thought leaders like Brené Brown and Alan Watts. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, camping, yoga, knitting, and watching "Friends," always seeking to inspire others to realize their full potential.

Reyna Aguirre Lopez, BA

Reyna (Ray-nuh) Aguirre Lopez (Ah-geer-ray Loh-pez) is the current ASSET Resource Coordinator at Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó. She graduated from MSU Denver with the support of TheDream.US Scholarship and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a minor in Spanish. Reyna began her journey in higher education as a student employee at MSU Denver, where she became deeply interested in expanding opportunities for undocumented students. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for supporting students and helping them navigate college life. She chose to work at Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó because of its strong focus on student support and its dedication to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. She was especially excited to work alongside Estéfani Peña Figueroa, a longtime mentor and influential leader in the community. In her free time, Reyna enjoys spending time with her dog and playing video games with her husband.

Soyon-Bueno

Soyon Bueno, MS

Soyon Bueno is the Program Director for Social Mobility. As a first-generation college student, an immigrant, and someone who grew up in a low-income household, Soyon knows firsthand how overwhelming college can feel — and how life-changing it is when someone shows up to help you succeed. She holds a master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education and brings more than 25 years of experience supporting students from all walks of life. For Soyon, Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó’s mission to expand opportunities and close the opportunity gap isn’t just work — it’s personal. She loves the diverse students Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó serves and feels honored to play a role in supporting their goals. When she’s not at work, you can usually find Soyon on the tennis court or playing pickleball. She’s also a proud mom of her son, who is now in college.

Katia Delgado's interest in this field was sparked during her undergraduate years, where she experienced firsthand how transformative education can be, not just academically, but personally and professionally. As a first-generation Latina college graduate, her journey through higher education was both empowering and transformative. She is proud to contribute to an organization that cultivates learning, growth, and opportunity for others. During her free time she enjoys spending time with family and having a good cup of coffee.

Kenneth English is Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó’s Program Director for Student Success, where he leverages his own journey as a first-generation student to champion the success of students. Raised in Denver, he earned a BA in Sociology from CU Boulder and an MA in Higher Education Leadership from UNLV before joining Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó in 2011. Drawing on the mentors who guided him, he partners campus-wide to build programming that helps students network with professionals, master academic strategies, and secure internships and jobs—and above all, to create a welcoming community where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Kim McCabe (Navajo, Dakota, Seneca) serves as Director of Graduate Recruitment and Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó in the Office of Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó, where she leads strategic recruitment initiatives, oversees graduate admissions operations, and collaborates with faculty and staff across the seven schools and colleges to meet enrollment goals. In this role, she develops and implements data-driven recruitment plans, optimizes admissions processes, and champions efforts to attract a diverse, talented graduate student body. In addition, Kim offers support to the Center for Access and Campus Engagement through managing the Nelson-Running Wolf and Northern Arapaho Scholarships, hosting weekly student office hours, and advising student organizations and programs that promote Native American student success. Passionate about equity and access, she works to create welcoming, supportive pathways for all students to thrive.

Estefani-Pena-Figueroa

Estéfani Peña Figueroa, BS

Estéfani Peña Figueroa is a proud Chapina, Guatemalan immigrant who came to the United States at the age of seven. With over 12 years of connection to the Auraria Campus, she is an alumna of both the Community College of Denver and Metropolitan State University of Denver. Estéfani currently serves as the Program Director for STEM and HSI Initiatives at Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó, where she champions student success through inclusive, asset-based programming. Her work is deeply rooted in her own intersectional identities as a first-generation college graduate, woman in STEM, and member of the immigrant community. These experiences fuel her unwavering commitment to supporting first-gen, immigrant, and historically underrepresented students–particularly in STEM fields–by expanding access to resources, opportunities, and high-impact practices. Outside of work, you can find Estéfani dancing, singing, swimming, exploring the outdoors, cooking, or spending time with her beloved cats, parakeets, and planti.

Jill Rubin, MA

Jill Rubin is the Program Director for Assessment and Operations at Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó's Center for Access and Campus Engagement (CACE). Mx. Rubin is a graduate of Boston and Florida Atlantic University, with an MA in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. With ten years of leadership in fostering accessible environments through collaborative programming, workshops, advocacy, and community building; as well as teaching academic courses on women, gender, and sexuality; Mx. Rubin is passionate about supporting student success in Higher Education through strategic assessment and operational planning.
