Developmental Education Policy Information

​The Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) has a . The goal of this policy is to support academic success. Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó notifies freshmen admits who fall within the guidelines of this policy by email, so please check your Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó email to see if you received communication with the subject line: You're eligible for developmental education and extra academic support at Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó! The email indicates whether you qualify for additional support in the areas of English, Mathematics, or both. 

Please view the  to learn how you can meet the developmental education requirements, and note that these requirements should be met by the time you complete 30 credit hours. If you didn't receive the email, this policy doesn't apply to you.

If the policy does apply to you and you have updated high school transcripts, college credit or test scores, please let us know as it may exempt you from the developmental education requirements. Please submit your updated records to the Office of Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó​​ by July 15th.

  • Contact your academic advising office to discuss your options for meeting developmental education requirements, 
  • Developmental Education will also be addressed at New Student Orientation. All new freshmen must attend orientation, sign up now.
  • Know your ACT/SAT sub-scores when you arrive at orientation
