Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó

Applying to Global Study programs is an easy online process. View Global Study program listings in the , click on your chosen program, and click on the "Apply Now" button to get started. All programs require a statement of purpose essay and an interview with the faculty leader. It is important to note that applications will not be reviewed until all required application materials are submitted.

Class Standing

Undergraduate students must have completed at least one semester of college coursework (12 or more credit hours) at the time of application, though some programs may have higher class standing requirements. Transfer students may participate on a global study or domestic study program their first semester at Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó provided they submit a copy of their previous institution’s transcript and all other eligibility requirements are met.

GPA Requirements and Course Prerequisites

Students must be in good academic standing at Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Most programs do not have prerequisites, but some may require a slightly higher GPA or completion of another course. If you are concerned about a GPA that’s lower than 2.5 but are interested in participating on a Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó Global Study program, please contact study.abroad@ucdenver.edu to learn about our appeal process.

The application process for  is entirely online. In the Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó Study Abroad Portal, search for your program, navigate to the program brochure page, and click on the "Apply Now" button to get started.

The Semester in Berlin and Semester in Beijing programs are open to all Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó students, as well as non-Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó students in good academic standing. Proficiency in the host language is not required for these programs. Students will need to provide a statement of purpose and copy of their unofficial transcript when applying to either program. The Semester in Berlin application also requires an interview with the faculty member.

The most important thing to know about applying to a Third-Party Provider Program is that the process requires two different applications: the Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó study abroad application and the specific third-party provider’s application. Students can browse through our and start the required Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó application easily on our website. If a student wants to participate on a program not listed on our website, please contact study.abroad@ucdenver so we can create the application for you! The application requires a copy of the acceptance letter from the provider as well as a completed Course Approval Form, which can be accessed on the application. While provider application deadlines will vary, the Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó study abroad application deadlines are the same from year to year:

Students selecting to directly enroll in an institution abroad must first have the program approved by the Office of Global Education, who will verify that the institution is accredited. Please contact OGE (study.abroad@ucdenver) ASAP to begin this verification and petition process. Once approved, OGE will email students the link to the Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó study abroad application. The application requires a copy of the acceptance letter from the host institution as well as a completed Course Approval Form (available in your application). While institution application deadlines will vary, the Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó study abroad application deadlines are the same from year to year:

Students who plan to travel abroad for university purposes (without the help of a third-party provider or a Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó-sponsored group) must contact the Office of Global Education to request access to an online application. This application varies depending on the student’s school/college. Please email study.abroad@ucdenver.edu and indicate the following: name, school/college, country and intended dates of travel, purpose of travel. Each school/college may require additional steps for international travel, above and beyond the Global Education application.

Residents or Fellows who plan to travel abroad for a rotation must first coordinate with their Program Coordinator for pre-approval.
